ROBERT L. FLOOD, PRESIDENT
RESCUERS OF THE YOUTH - HOOP CITY, LLC
LYNCHBURG, VA​

A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University of Missouri and an Associates degree from Carl Albert Jr. College. He maintained a competitive sports career as he excelled in sports.
Robert tried out with the New Jersey Nets and coached a semi-professional basketball team in Charlottesville, Virginia where the Washington Bullets later recruited him.

Life's experiences create a 360-degree turn when later, his Mother told him, you have traveled the world enough and it's time to return to his hometown in Lynchburg, Virginia. He then returned to support his community by giving back through the world of sports.
Robert’s talents not only rested in the sports area, he extended his expertise as the assistant to the director at Virginia Seminary College for the local G.E.D. program to support the community education programs, coordinated fund-raisers for various non-profit organizations, started a narcotic anonymous for recovering addicts while also hosting annual Thanksgiving drives for underserved communities.

Determined to uplift the sports enthusiasts for the youth he formed a summer non-profit basketball program called Rescues of the Youth, as the founder and CEO for the Lynchburg community.
Excelling in life's experiences his work is never complete. Robert’s dedication and love for his city as he continues to support the City of Lynchburg.
Currently, is the Vice President of the NAACP. Robert’s sports career has taken him to new heights where his work is never complete. The City of Lynchburg has a strong community history to be proud of and its goal is to preserve it with pride for the future of our youth.

The youth are the future and I am dedicated to building a healthy future for each of them.
